Live, a weekender supplementary of the tabloid Heute one gets free at the Viennese tube, was taken of Leonardo DiCaprio’s plan to wed his girlfriend, the Israeli model Bar Refaeli.
The magazines all over the world reported that they might take the plunge in June this year.
The proposal allegedly took place in Israel when the two were there for a visit meeting Bar’s parents. Leonardo also got to see the Wailing Wall and met some important people.
A source close to Leo denied the rumours, “just because you see the parents doesn’t mean there is an engagement.”
Though the article mentioned more about his serious engagement to save the world, his political acquaintance to such luminaries like Al Gore and Mikhail Gorbatschev. His affair with Bar brought a little negativity on his part. Before the two reached their half year, news of the pair’s breakup was scattered round the town bringing speculations that the two would never make it due to a translatlantic relationship. Leo and Bar get to cmmunicate through their mobiles and once in a while meetings. Leo is said to send the model cool messages.
The story also focused on his womanising attitude and his supposed penchant for models, earning him the title “modelizer. A term that we first heard from one of the episodes of “Sex and the City.”
So here is our Leonardo DiCaprio with his stunning girlfriend caught up between his dedication to help the environment and his career. Not to mention his wild nights with friends like Tobey Maguire and a string of women he might have a relationship with, including Kate Winslet and Liv Tyler.
Several gossip magazines talked about Bar’s physical resemblance with Gisele Bündchen. They are both blonde, sexy and tall. Most of all, they are both models. This seems to be the set of cards one has to have in order be the future Mrs. DiCaprio, the story wrote.
A week after the marriage buzz, he was featured side the side with Knut, a four-month old baby bear from Berlin Zoo, emphasising his environmental commitment.
Exactly how did the two first meet?

Leo and Bar saw each other for the first time in a Las Vegas party by a party producer Israeli Danny Avikazer, 33, a party producer who lives in New York. It was on the night of November 4th 2005, a few weeks after Leo ended his relationship with supermodel Giselle.
Danny organised a party for U2 band members who were in town. Leo was one of the invited guests to show up at the event. Bar knew Danny from the glamorous parties he holds in New York. She was also invited to the private party and arrived escorted by her friend, model Adi Neumann.
In the early months of the affair when the model stayed in New York for auditions, a messenger would show up every morning at the same time, with a huge flower bouquet going on for 10 days pampering her “a lot with things she loves, like special chocolates and cool text messages,” said one close friend of Bar’s.
Like Leo, Bar never mentions her affair with the actor. The model said she would really love to be a singer but had to forego the dream as she isn’t talented. Like the usual twentysomethings, she lists reading, horse-riding and surfing and going to cinemas as her hobbies. She was formerly married to a childhood boyfriend when she was 18 and dated “Baywatch” David Charvet. Her longest affair is with Uri El-Natan, whose mother is now married to Erwin Eisenberg, one of Israel’s richest businessmen.
On his part, Leo dated mostly models. From a few nights’ stand with Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, to Russian model Alyssa Sorovova.
His longest affairs included Kristen Zang and Gisele. He took over Kristen from Nicholas Cage. But this didn’t last long. The article suggested that Kristen went back to Nicholas while he was filming “Titanic.”
Some said “she broke off the relationship with Leo because she knew how popular he was going to become and she didnt want the hassle of a relationship that was so in the limelight.” The two said they are still friends. He also appeared in Demi Moore’s life back in the time when Demi was still married to Bruce Willis.
It remains to be seen if the wedding bliss will happen this summer. As of this time the model hasn’t worn an engagement ring yet. If that’s going to be with diamonds is something out of the question for Leo.
In the meantime, Leo is back in Kate’s arms in the upcoming film “Revolutionary Road” based on a novel by Richard Yates. Kate’s husband Sam Mendes will direct the movie.
