Enrique Iglesias: ‘Twas only a joke!

Enrique Iglesias is set to release his latest album, the first in four years. Contrary to rumours that he has split up with former tennis star Anna Kournikova, his on and off girlfriend for five years, the singer told Hello that it is only a fekking joke.
His “We’ve split. I’m single now and it’s OK. I don’t mind being single” statement backfired or had been taken out of context.
Even though the two live in separate locations, he insisted that the press misunderstood him. But The Sun is stubborn and still holding on to its story after it published the breakup a while ago. This time Enrique related how he has suffered from insomnia, which incidentally the title of his new album, for years.
“It is the first serious relationship I’ve had in my life.”
Obviously, Enrique, whose mole is suddenly gone, is doing what it takes to promote “Insomnia,” which is slated to be released next month. He just came out with a silly single called “Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song).” And as silly as it can be he has come out with absolute silly pronouncements the last few days just to be able to stimulate the buzz surrounding his album.
It has been awhile ever since Enrique has landed on the Billboard’s Top 10 with his catchy, dare I say average, pop songs. And one will wonder if Anna was a real professional tennis player. I wonder the instances she has spent on the field and the amount she is on the cover of swimsuit/tratsch klatsch magazines or in the middle of a product ad campaigns. It is a wonder that these two still manage to land on the Gossipland just because they are pretty and have lots of money.
I wonder what would his mother, Isabel Preysler, one of the most famous celebrities in Spain, say about her son’s tendency to become like his father. It was rumoured that crooner Julio Iglesias has slept with 3,000 girls. But his son, Enrique, blurted out that it was not at all true. “It’s a lie. I don’t believe he has slept with 3,000 women. I think it’s closer to 5,000!” Julio and the Filipina-Spanish socialite Isabel stayed married for eight years. Meanwhile, Enrique’s brother Julio Jose used to be photographed with his girlfriends in every issue of Hola, a popular tabloid in Spain. While father Julio is again a father this month and has promised to marry his longtime partner the former Dutch model Miranda Johanna Maria Rijnsburger.
It must be the genes and the mental conviction that the Iglesias are God’s gifts to women.
Though, Enrique, for his part, whines that he has a small Willy, or Peter for others, and would love to be the posterboy of meagre manhood. I smell psychology here…
The “Hero” singer has admitted to having a small problem, a little issue that has caused him a large amount of embarrassment. Enrique Iglesias admits that he has a small penis.
Rather than hiding his tiny secret, the singer has admitted to his shortcomings and said that he would like to endorse extra-small condoms to compensate.
The Sun newspaper quotes Enrique saying, “I’d change my penis if I could. It’s way, way, way too small.”
He reportedly told the Houston Press newspaper, “The next product I’m gonna put my name on is extra-small condoms. I can never find extra-small condoms, and I know it’s really embarrassing for people - you know, from experience. Hopefully people won’t be ashamed when I step forward.”
Aside from his, uh, masculinity revelation, he gets turned on just by listening to guess what, the gay anthem “Macho Man” by Village Boys.
The Spanish singer loves the idea of fans making love to the rhythm of his music–but confesses he uses gay anthem Macho Man to get him in the mood.
The 32-year-old says, “For me to get laid I’d put on Marvin Gaye, Enigma, or Josh Groban. Or the Village People singing Macho Man. I like their originality.” After being told his music was a popular soundtrack to sex, he adds, “I think that’s great, If they like my music for doing that, it means they really like it.”
But let’s forget about his virility or his man troubles, fans of Anna are outraged that his lame answers get picked up by the media. One never knows for sure if he says these things just to be noticed. He is aware of the circus surrounding them and appears not to take every interview seriously, jiving at the press’ ridiculous assumptions about him and Anna. The two hooked up while they were doing Enrique’s “Escape” video in early 2000.
While he has no problem making cracks about himself, Enrique is puzzled by the media’s focus on Anna’s body.
“One day she’s skinny, the next day she’s pregnant [according to the tabloids],” he remarks. “So I guess, in Hollywood, it’s a big thing about women and girls and their weight, you know. I mean, she’s perfectly healthy, you know. She’s very athletic, she exercises a lot, maybe sometimes she’s a little too skinny, um, I don’t know, but I mean to me she’s always looked perfect.”
No wonder, some people don’t want to believe that he has given up on the 25-year-old ex-professional tennis star despite his confession. They believe he is using Anna and the “shattered” relationship to make the people interested in his lousy comeback.
“I honestly don’t believe you need to be married and, at this point, I don’t think it would make a difference. In fact, the only difference is going to be a piece of paper. As a couple, you go through your ups and downs, but it has been fine without marriage. And I think it can also save you a lot of problems in the future.
“I’m not ruling it out one day. It’s not that I don’t believe in marriage, it’s just I don’t think I need it now.”
From his Swedish interview via The Sun, the thought of having children as of this time isn’t for him. The Spanish singer isn’t ready to take on the responsibility.
“I’m not ready for children. I don’t feel like taking on such a responsibility yet. But in the future I’d like two children.”
Enrique’s non-committal and disinterest to marriage could have spawned from his parents’ experience. Julio and Isabel wedded when they were not yet famous and were still busy making a name for themselves.
Enrique visions himself having kids at the age of 40, when he is settled and mature enough to handle a family. That’s highly doubtful. If the singer is telling the truth, only he knows.

The trouble with Britney is nearly always the same. She is an brilliant talent. It is so disappointing to see her destroy it being caught up in all that bad rubbish. The girl must go straight to rehabilitation, or book into a clinic, or get a better personal coach. Will she tour in the future? I’d love to see her live, her performances are always terrific.
