Is Cameron Diaz being used?
Poor Cameron Diaz. The actress is now the fall guy. For one she is obviously being exploited by Criss Angel’s wife Joann Sarantankos. For two, Joann is avenging herself of what could have been the magician’s wrongdoing.
Cameron has denied she caused the break-up of magician Criss Angel’s marriage. Like what we blogged yesterday Joann cited his alleged affair with the actress, who played Fiona in the latest “Shrek,” as her reason for divorcing Angel.
Cameron’s representative Brad Cafarelli said a day ago that it is impossible.
“When Cameron met Criss Angel in May of this year, he had been separated from his wife for over a year and she had already filed a petition to divorce him in 2006. Cameron and Criss went on only four dates over a month ago and have no current relationship.
“These are meaningless, attention-seeking attempts to unfairly and unnecessarily exploit Cameron’s celebrity by trying to involve her in matters she has nothing to do with.”
Meanwhile, Joann’s lawyer Dominic Barbara said that they have evidence supporting that Cameron dated the illusionist while he was still with his wife. He plans to reveal the evidence next week.
“I will show with documentary evidence that my client was still with her husband, trying to save her marriage, at the same time Cameron Diaz was dating Criss Angel. I don’t know if Criss Angel lied to Cameron Diaz, and I and my client don’t wish her any bad publicity, but her press agent should be careful about what he says.”
Meanwhile one source told People that Criss and Joann “have been very amicable since she filed for divorce.”
“He felt comfortable dating and thought Joann was ready too. He’s really disappointed that they have turned this into a real public thing. He genuinely feels angry that they threw Cam’s name in there.”

This whole thing is just very bizarre. After nearly a year apart why is she bringing this up? What about Criss and Minne Driver?
