After three years of being together, Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams called it quits.

The two met on the set of “Brokeback Mountain” and have a daughter Matilda Rose, who was born in 2005. Even before Matilda arrived there were reports that the Australian actor and Michelle split up. It was even claimed that they were engaged.

According to US Weekly via the Sydney Morning Herald, a source confirmed that they “quietly and amicably split a few weeks ago.”

“The relationship had been rocky recently. They tried very hard to make it work but finally decided to separate. They just grew apart.
“They have a beautiful daughter and they are both committed to being great parents.”

It is up and about at the Venice Film 64th Venice Film Festival, a.k.a. Biennale.

Like every splashy movie festival, Biennale isn’t short of glamour and is regarded as one of the institutions in the film industry.

The opening ceremony took place at the Palazzo del Cinema around 7 p.m., and was hosted by Ambra Angiolini, an Italian actress. “Atonement” by UK director Joe Wright was the first film to be screened in competition. This is the second time Joe and Keira worked together. They did “Pride and Prejudice” before.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the film got quite a “strong” reception. It stars Keira Knightley, who is the darling of the press at the moment. She tagged along her boyfriend Rupert Friend.

Weight shouldn’t be an issue. It is a matter of a personal choice. As long as you are happy with it then go for it. But I am sorry to say that the appearance of Keira and her bf Rupert tandem is a big exaggerating. They look unhealthy to me.

Suicide victims often do it in order to garner attention from the people they love.

It is a call for help that the loved ones should heed. Or else, it might be too late.

It doesn’t matter if the person is susceptible to self-destruction. Like funny man Owen Wilson. Who would expect that Owen could ever do such a thing?

He’s always been featured as this gigolo, happy-go-lucky, I-don’t-care-about-the-future-not-even-my-girlfriend kind of person. Contrary to his brother Luke’s persona, who found him, the media portrayed Owen as a party-goer and not someone who would commit himself to a girl.

So why did he slash his wrist? Why did he take some pills? Tabloid gossips speculated that the intimate pictures of his ex-girlfriend for six months Kate Hudson and her new flame, Dax Shepard, another comedian, kissing and holding hands at a Malibu grocery triggered Owen to kill himself.

Are these pictures enough to drive Owen to end his life? An unidentified source mentioned that Owen has been depressed for months. After the split, the actor hasn’t been dating anybody.

Did he really regret it or there is more to this story?

Though the actor is stable, he asked the media to leave him alone at this moment.

Last night Wilson issued a statement saying a “difficult time” had led to him ending up in hospital.

He would not elaborate on the apparent suicide bid, but asked to be given peace to “heal in private”.

They say regrets always come later. Owen might be experiencing this right now.

I still don’t dig Matt Damon’s Bourne series, his own version of James Bond, but you have to take credit for the man who wrote and starred in “The Good Will Hunting.” It was really a nice movie.

So, the latest installment of Bourne Trilogy is now out dubbed “Bourne Ultimatum.” This time without German actress Franka Potente. The cast attended yesterday night’s London premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square.

Matt is pictured together with his wife, the Argentine-born Luciana Bozan Barroso, whom he met in Miami where she was working as a bartender.

The two married in a private civil ceremony on December 9, 2005, in New York City Hall. Damon has become stepfather to Luciana’s young daughter, Alexia, from her previous marriage. The couple’s first child together, daughter Isabella, was born on June 11, 2006.

The actor previously dated Winona Ryder, Odessa Whitmire, Billy Bob Thorton’s personal assistant and Ben Affleck and “Good Will Hunting” co-star Minnie Driver. Their breakup spawned an urban myth when Damon reportedly ended the affair via “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Both actors have repeatedly denied this. According to reports, Damon mentioned that he was “sick and tired” of hearing the story, saying it was false.

Christina Applegate and Jonathon Shaech are divorced!

I didn’t know that they were even married! And they have been together for four years!

Married in Palm Springs, the two decided to end their union, which was filed in December 2005, citing the overused phrase “irreconcilable differences” in Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to People, the childless couple’s worth isn’t that bad. Compared to us, the ordinary mortals, the 37-year-old Jonathon, emphasise on the “on,” who made it big through the bubblegum movie about the rise of a bubblegum pop band “That Thing You Do,” is about $2 million whereas Christina has accounts totaling over $6 million.

The actress who played the lovable yet ditzy Kelly Bundy from the much-beloved “Married….With Children” and Jonathon would like to settle it in style. Christina will get their Los Angeles homes and the Lexus. While he keeps the 2001 Mercedes-Benz, “but has asked for custody of his cement Buddha.”

Jenny Shimizu doesn’t believe Angelina Jolie has changed.

According to Public, a French magazine, Angelina admitted that Brad Pitt had tamed her and no longer seeks the “thrills in lesbian conquests and dangerous lovemaking.”

Angie’s former lover refuses to believe her claims. Model and one-time actress Jenny, who boasts a 10-year relationship with the actress, is skeptical. No family could change the fire inside Angelina.

“She (Jolie) loves danger and dabbling in the dark side. Angelina is an unbelievable lesbian lover. That’s where she gets her kicks–not playing happy families with one man.”

Or is Angelina really? Perhaps, Jenny is aching for some menage a trois? Would you give it to her Brad? Hmmm….

Meanwhile, the multiculti family has been spotted recently by visiting Chicago’s Field Museum. The actress is set to film her new movie in the Windy City. Their colourful set of kids–daughter Shiloh Nouvel, adopted daughter Zahara Marley, and adopted boys Maddox Chivan and Pax Thien–seems to be at ease with the setup and unaware of their mother’s erotic past. Notice that Zahara and Pax are sporting tattoos on their limbs.

Who doesn’t enjoy the slapstick comedy of “Two and a Half Men” is a wuzz?

I guess, when you are bedridden you learn to savour its vicious humour and real-life fun especially if Elvis Costello is one of the honoured guests. And I admit it is really funny. So why Charlie Sheen, 41, who thinks himself larger than life, declared that former wife Denise Richards would like to have another baby with him?

Ever since splitting up the ex-couple has been known to wash the details of their short marriage in front of the public. And recently, there was a talk of sperm donation. Huh?

Talking to syndicated TV show “Entertainment Tonight” Charlie said that there “was a request for a donation.”

“Without getting into it here … there is a specific document relating to this that I am going to reserve for a court.”

When asked if he would let his ex-wife carry his would-be third child.

“I would sooner, in exactly what I’m wearing, walk on the surface of the moon. Does that answer it?”

I am not sure how could Denise possibly manage to take care of the couple’s two daughters–Sam and Lola. No wonder she denied the allegation.

“I don’t want another child right now. I have my hands full and am focusing on my children, my mother and my career. I thought I was past all this stuff.”

Quick! Tell me what’s wrong with this picture.

Does the sight of the Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and the U2 singer, without the missus, holding hands cause someone to raise his left eyebrow? Is Penelope Cruz Bono’s latest apple of the eye? Are they really lovers? How about Bono’s wife for 25 years Ali Hewson? Are they now separated?

Surely, these questions would come into a person’s mind. We heard Bono sang about his wife and his little family. Has Penelope replaced Ali as his “Sweetest Thing”?

According to Ms Cruz, Bono is her “hero” and admits that she in awe of the singer’s commitment to save the world. The two were allegedly seen strolling down the beautiful and trendy resort of St. Tropez where they reportedly holding hands. Bono’s wife Ali was nowhere in sight. Officially, Bono and his family owns a villa in Alpes-Maritimes, which they shared with U2 band mate The Edge.

“He is so powerful yet so human. Seeing him investing all his time and effort is something to admire. He’s changing the world.”

Not only the two shared some cosy walks but the actress partied with the rocker last week in the noted French Riviera causing some wild rumours to spark.

Yet the two weren’t alone. Bono and Penelope shared a yacht with Helena Christensen among others. Also on board are Bono’s daughters, Memphis Eve and Jordan.

Bono’s significant other Ali commented in 2002 about her relationship with the singer saying that theirs is based on “mutual respect”:

“When he’s garbled and broken I help put him back together and he does the same for me.”

Like Bono, the less than photographed Ali also shares her husband’s passion: political and environmental activism. Recently she also added fashion entrepreneurship to her sleeve launching her own line of clothing. I wonder if her achievements yet Plain Jane looks isn’t enough for the singer.

Bono and the actress have a lot of of explaining to do.

New parents Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts named their first born Alexander Pete Schreiber. The actress welcomed their baby last Wednesday. According to the news, the couple’s first child weighed in at eight pounds and four ounces (3.74 kilograms). The birth took place at a Los Angeles hospital around 3.59 p.m., local time.

Reports of Naomi giving birth only surfaced on Friday via the couple’s publicists. The two actors are not known to flirt with the media and are very careful in hiding their love life.

Last month Liev even made a joke that they were already married much to the dismay of the press. For the meantime, Naomi and Baby Alexander are resting comfortably in the hospital, close to the couple’s Brentwood, California mansion.

New Yorker Liev is undecided where to raise his little family. He admitted that they are still working on it. Naomi is British-Australian. So far Sydney is included on their list.

“We’re working on it. We’re still sorting through it. New York is my home and my inspiration and where all my work is. It’s a hard place to live, but it’s also such a big part of who I am, I can’t imagine anything else. But you get into a relationship and you have to be flexible.”

Oh my, Harry Potter, err Daniel Radcliffe, has really grown! After his intriguing yet successful entry to the world of theaterplay, “Equus,” his screen kiss with costar Kathy Leung, who played Cho Chang in the latest flick “Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix” has sparked lots of questions from the curious public.

But is he a good kisser? Kathy said so and she wasn’t bribed.

“He’s a good kisser, and he didn’t pay me to say that.”

She played Harry’s love interest. When asked how many takes the kiss took:

“Everyone asks me that, but I didn’t actually count. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. I watched it last week and was quite pleased with it. Dan is a gentleman.”

Meanwhile, Daniel admitted the kissing scene made him a bit nervous as he talked to the Associated Press during the Tokyo screening.

“When we started it, we were both a bit nervous. But after the first few takes, it was sort of like any other scene, which is never really what people want to hear. It doesn’t really feel any different, because you are still acting.”

Scottish Kathy, 19, is on the lookout for a boyfriend.

“I’m single and looking and failing miserably. I’m keeping my options open.”

And no, she and Daniel are not an item because she is wishing that Joaquin Phoenix would come her way.

“I like Joaquin Phoenix. He’s an amazing actor and he’s so buff.”

Daniel, 17, also told reporters on Tuesday that he’s “not dating anyone at the moment. I just like girls in general to be perfectly honest with you.”

Her closeness with Daniel has spawned a lot of hate sites criticising her role.

“This kind of stuff is inevitable because Dan has so many female fans - millions of them - so I’m not surprised if some of them don’t like me. But I don’t think it’s all based on jealousy. I’m not going to satisfy everyone’s preconceptions of Cho.”

The generally shy Kathy has stopped attending the prestigious private school Hamilton College in Scotland so she can continue to star in subsequent “Harry Potter” films or others. On the other hand, Daniel after achieving AS levels in school dropped out so he can concentrate in making more movies and theater works. The young actor has made it again on the list this year placing him as the 33rd richest young person in UK with an estimated wealth of £17 million.

Antonio Banderas, who has been married for more than a decade to Melanie Griffith, educates their children that “the world is not Hollywood.”

“I don’t give them whatever they ask for. They have to earn it. I tell the kids the world is not Hollywood. I’ve taken them to Mexico and Argentina when I’ve been making movies there so they could see how kids in different countries live. They’ve seen the shanty towns. I don’t want them to think that the world is just full of beautiful cars and houses and everything you want.”

The Spanish actor is father to Stella del Carmen Banderas Griffith, 10, his child with Melanie and stepfather to her two other children Dakota Mayi Johnson, 17, (from her first and third husband Don Johnson) and Alexander, 21 (from actor and second husband Steven Bauer).

He is proud to say that his style of parenting is paying off with daughter Stella. Though I am not sure about Melanie’s infuence on her rumoured fascination to go for beauty surgery, which one time angered her husband, who is three years younger than the actress.

“My little baby, Stella, is a straight A-plus student. I don’t know where she came from because I wasn’t like that at all and neither was her mother.”

Antonio and Melanie met in 1995 during the shooting of “Too Much,” a story of a con man/galerist who fell in love with two sisters and pretended that he had another twin to be with them. Year after that Melanie divorced her third and first husband Don of “Miami Vice” fame.

Melanie’s famous mom Tippi Hedren also married four times.

Despite recent reports that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have marriage troubles the Welsh actress allegedly wants to have another baby.

That’s according to an unidentified friend of Catherine’s who told the Italian-British magazine Grazia that the Welsh actress is said to be planning to give another sister or brother to their two children–the six-year-old Dylan, and four-year-old Carys. Both actors share the same birthdates and got married in November 2000.

The Oscar-winning actress is currently filming five movies that are scheduled to be screened this year till 2008.

“She has started talking about how wonderful it would be to have another baby. She and Michael have agreed to just relax and see what happens. They do want to have another baby, but even more than that, they want to focus on spending time together and with their family.”

If this is true it seems to be a huge turnaround on the part of Catherine, who a few months ago was keen on making movies after movies. Over last week the actress related to InStyle that her foremost priority is her family.

“Years ago if someone said they were doing a movie in Romania, I was, like, `What time is my flight?’ I couldn’t see beyond the script. Now I’m like, `Script? I’ll figure that out after dealing with the people I love more than anything in the world.’ ”

Catherine, 37, has previously said she didn’t want to have more children. On the other hand, Michael seems to be tired of looking after smaller kids. Last year, the 62-year-old Michael insisted he did not want anymore children.

“We are enjoying our two children, and we want to keep it that way. I’m happy.”

He used to be married with Diandra Luker, his first wife. Their son Cameron is already 29 years old.

Well, we didn’t see much of the two actors hanging out together and now it seems that the love affair between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal didn’t last long, People has gathered. The new divorcee wants to spend more time with her children and having a relationship at this moment isn’t a great idea to nurture a new love. Too bad for Jake. As a bachelor, he would like to see more of Reese. And Reese’s first and foremost priority isn’t him but her family.

Reese, who won an Oscar for her award-winning performance for her portrayal as Johnny Cash’s wife June Carter from the movie “Walk the Line,” got separated from her husband Ryan Phillippe last year. The reason: Her two kids–Ava,7, Deacon, 3–and are much more important than Jake. A source who is said to be close to the two told People that the affair “is totally and completely over.”

“”Reese and Jake just recently broke up. It’s totally and completely over. Reese was the one who had to do it. She just got out of a divorce and was so concerned with her family, she just didn’t have the time for him and he really demanded that. They’re still friends. Things are fine, but it was a clean break–there’s no chance of getting back together.”

Reese and Jake became close after starring in “Rendition” earlier this year keeping their relationship away from the curious public. The only time they were seen together was the “date” in Los Angeles restaurant Il Sole in March where Reese and Jake were spotted “being playful.” However, the enterprising paparazzi didn’t get the chance to snap the two proving that they were indeed lovers. There were speculations that they were just friends but the sight of the two really tried hard not to be seen.

Reese’s ex, Ryan, admitted in February that he was having a hard time coping with the new setup. However, he recently requested the court to grat him visitation rights though without demanding any spousal support from Reese, who earns more than Ryan. The actor is entitled 50 per cent of Reese’s fortunes as the two didn’t sign any prenuptial agreement.

It isn’t known if Reese would give Ryan a second chance. If not for Ryan’s infidelity the two wouldn’t have been separated. It was rumoured that Ryan and young actress Abby Cornish had a brief liaison and Reese found out about it.

Contrary to earlier reports actors Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber haven’t tied the knot.

This is what their reps have told People Magazine. During the 61st Tony Awards at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night Liev was heard saying to reporters of Entertainment Tonight that they were. But when you click the link from the ET website the story, surprisingly, cannot be found.

“We are married. You got it first. Break the story!”

Instead a newsbrief that announces the actor’s revealing joke is on the news list to rectify the error.

The actor must be in the mood for weaving a story. Possibly a playful revenge after he was caught up in a woozy revelation done by Escada in early February. If you still remember, with total naivety, the fashion house that sponsored the 38-year-old actress’ Oscar dress mistakenly wrote in their press release that the robe was specially designed for the actress’ emerging pregnancy. Or the actor was merely pissed off after he lost the best actor award for his performance in “Talk Radio” to Frank Langella, who was in “Frost/Nixon.”

“They’re not married.” Schreiber’s rep told PEOPLE Tuesday, clearing up mixed reports about the couple’s marital status.

After making the statement, the two were busy denying the story backstage.

A Vera Wang-clad Watts was asked if she had wed. She smiled and said, “No.” Schreiber meanwhile, said of the report: “Not true.”

Naomi and Liev are expecting their first child in August. They met during the set of “The Painted Veil” in 2005. When asked if the actor knows the possible name and the gender of the baby. He jokingly declare, “I’m thinking Tony is a good name,” referring to the award-giving body.

Until now he doesn’t if they are having a boy or a girl.

“I really don’t know. I wanted to know; she doesn’t.”

But he was thankful that partner Naomi doesn’t have any strange cravings.

“She’s great. She hasn’t had any strange cravings. In fact, I’ve never seen anyone handle a pregnancy so well. She’s amazing.”

Not only the actress welcomes the arrival of their first child, she is also busy doing lots of movies including the US remake of “Funny Games” from noted Austrian director Michael Haneke. While Liev is up with the release of two movies this year: “Love in the Time of Cholera” and “The Ten.”
